i am a 71 year old lady, travel by myself at times to our cabin in NC loaded to the gills. I got a smaller cargo hitch trailer that folds up and put on and off my car by myself. Then I needed a cargo bag. Read reviews of dozens on amazon, most were too big for my slightly smaller carrier. The reviews on this one were good. I made a frame for the inside out of pvc. no center section. just the ends. worked well and I loaded a ton of stuff in the carrier. when i got to NC, just removed the whole thing and left bag and frame in the garage on the carrier. It's easy to unzip, straps are good, I will never fold and store it in it's orange storage bag or use the lock but I love the orange bag, all the straps and the hardware for it are in one easy to find place stored in the carrier. NO regrets on this one as of yet.
We bought this for our 11 hour trip to the Smokey Mountains, and i had buyers remorse after reading some of the reviews about water intrusion. But this thing came in and i was super surprised with how thick the material is, and on our 11 hour trip, it rained for a solid 8 hours, and not a single bit of moisture was inside the bag. Highly highly highly recommend! Great product!
Likes: this bag is made out of heavy duty material. The zipper and Velcro definitely ensure that this will not come open while traveling. I also like that this bag is large. I was able to fit 6 of the smaller travel totes in this without issue, I easily could have fit 8 (stacked 2 high x 4 across). I did not test it for sure but I believe it would fit 3 large totes across with 4 smaller totes stacked on top.Dislike: the advertised pictures of this show it as a nice solid rectangle. If you fill it up with boxes or items this would certainly be true but without filling it up, it is soft sided and it looks as it does in the photo I took.Takeaway- the quality of this bag is top notch. I would not be afraid of contents getting wet while traveling. It is large and will hold a lot of stuff. My only wish is that the sides were a little more rigid and it held shape by itself without requiring the contents to maintain its structure.
Normally I just use 3 rubber tubs with lids in the cargo carrier, but then must use a net over the top to retain the lids and the net is always at risk coming off creating bigger issues at 70 mph. This bag is heavy duty rubberized material that will certainly be waterproof. The top zips open and lifts like luggage, but keep in mind the sides are not rigid at all as their advertising photo implies. (Note: other reviews seem really upset about this, but it is not that big of a deal - just be aware).There is a lip that protects the zipper so I do not expect water infiltration. My attached photo shows bag with one rubber tub and a large box inside. Notice how the bag is still pretty floppy. I cannot fit three tubs in now, so keep that in mind too. If packing camping equip and such, it could even allow for more contents than 3 tubs. I might build a plywood hinged frame that fits in the bottom and can help hold the sides to aid loading when alone.Overall, the bag is well constructed, but I will work on making a hinged frame that can fold out to hold up the sides making it practical to load - even if I lose more space. Currently, I find it a little difficult to load.
Easy to fasten down; would like to see an inside PVC frame offered with inside velcro to hold it. This would make loading easier.

Our waterproof cargo carrier bag from Mockins was absolutely a life saver. We were getting married in the mountains and had a lot of gear for the weekend. The waterproof bag was perfect as we were able to put our clothes in the bag on the hitch rack as some of the more fragile cargo (alcohol!) was able to be stored in the back of our SUV. Highly recommend the product!
This cargo bag allowed me to fit so much more on my hitch tray than what I could fit without it. And, since it provides waterproof protection, I was able to put more items in than I normally would when just using the tray. Now, this is my go to instead of using my roof rack...no more climbing on my tires to get to my roof. No more horrible wind noise from the straps vibrating on top of the roof rack. I'm thrilled with this option!

I purchased this bag for my 8hr trip from NJ to NC Outer Banks. It was pouring rain the entire trip from NJ to the Outer Banks and rained most of the way back. All of the contents of the bag stayed absolutely dry. The tie down straps were sturdy and the additional bungee cofd net held everything tight. The bag is well made and has plenty of room for storage. I would definitely recommend this bag for a cargo hitch carrier.

I never have to worry about our items in this bag! It keeps our items safe and secure. Due to the color and water-resistant material, it DOES get quite warm in the sun, but this is easily resolved by parking in the shade.

Very thick and rugged construction. Took this bag on two 10 hour trips from Miami to Atlanta and back again. Had driving rain on each leg of each trip and contentents of the bag stayed dry and in place. I thought I needed additional straps and bungee cable, but the straps it came with were more than adequate length and worked with with my carrier. The zippers were very strong and the flap felt solid helps shed water way from the openings. Only wish it came with a storage bag to keep it in when not in use. Can't wait to use again on my next road trip.

I've used this thing on several cross-country trips. It's been absolutely packed with mud/snow on the outside, but the inside contents remained clean. My only issue is that I find the zipper difficult to manipulate, but maybe that's the price of having such a solid seal.
