Works very well. Made a drive from Virginia to Florida, even though a downpour but strapping has left permanent markings on my new vehicle, not happy about that. Used it for a weekend cruise that consisted of Two adults, three teens and two toddlers. Fit most of our suitcases. It's just hard to store back into the back it came in. Rubber mat does not stay in place.
My daughter and her husband came to visit over the holidays and utilized a mattress cover as a luggage bag because it was large. It didn't do very well on the 13 hour trip, so I immediately went on Amazon to find the largest bag I could find that fit the size of their Tyger roof rack.They loaded it up in the middle of a snow storm and headed out. Another 14 hours later they made it home and the bag did fantastic! It was rugged, easy to strap down, easy to load (unzips on 3 sides) and weathered rain, snow and cold.It comes with multiple ways to mount to the roof, including hooks to mount in the door even if you don't have a rack. It also came with two pretty good quality ratchet straps and 4 adjustable hold down straps.I highly recommend if you are looking for a large durable luggage bag for your roof rack or even if you do not have a rack.
We've used this for over three years on vacations, and it has held up great. It functions great on the top of our van. It's easy enough to attach that my husband and teenager load and strap it down in about 10 minutes. The design is durable waterproof material and zipper. Plenty of storage: We typically put 4 small, hardshell suitcases and one large suitcase inside it and use small bags to fill in gaps. I am especially impressed with how it has kept our luggage dry through rain- we are careful to make sure the zipper faces away from the wind. Easy to clean and store between uses. Highly recommend.

I just traveled across Canada in the middle of winter and the Bag held up great with the weather. We did leave everything in the bag rather than opening and closing it during our travels.The Bag itself was for extra storage. We vacuum sealed everything before putting it in the bag, which kept everything dry.*note: The Clips did not fit my doorframe so we just used the straps it came with to go around and through the car. The mat it came with was very thin, so we used yoga mats for extra cushion to protect my roof.Everything made it dry with no damage to my car. I am happy with this purchase
UPDATE 2: 8/2/21 Just received the replacement in the mail today. It is in perfect condition and in time for my trip. This process was completely pain-free and ultimately would have taken just a few days had I checked and replied to my messages in a more timely manner. It took a total of 5 days from the time the request for my replacement was put in by the agent and I received it today. I couldn't be happier with the customer service and this alone gets 5 stars, but I also know the product is of great quality and I'm going to chalk the damage up to the first one a fluke.UPDATE: 7/30/21 Their customer service is top-notch! They replied the same day I reached out to them and are sending out a replacement. It took longer on my part because I forgot to check my messages but when I replied, they immediately responded the same day. Definitely going from the two stars to four and I will be more than happy to add the fifth after I receive it, hopefully in time for my return trip.I got this last year in September of 2020 for an unexpected trip across the country. It performed flawlessly. It was super easy to install on my SUV, it fended off rain, ice, and snow perfectly, the material used is of good quality and the straps provided are good. It seems this carrier is perfect! Unfortunately, this didn't turn out to be the case. This last time I had to take yet another cross-country trip. It would be the third trip with this carrier and literally in the middle of the trip, we noticed it had a gaping hole in the corner where it had ripped at the seams. The pics were taken at the rest stop where it was noticed.I usually wait a while to do reviews on something so I can get some usage on them and this is why. It hasn't been a year yet and only 3 uses before it was rendered useless. We were also on a time crunch so this was not helpful, especially since we were headed toward a lot of heavy rain. After hours of trying to repair it and a lot of Gorilla tape, we were able to be on our.
I bought this product for a road trip. We drove 1500 miles on an average of 70 to 85 mph. We got heavy rain for 2 days and no water inside ar all!!! No complaints. It is sturdy and very spacious. Easy to manage and the zippers are smooth. My only bad experience was that one of the straps began to unravel within the first 30 minutes of being on the road. It continued to unravel until I tighten the end. It is frustating that this happen on a brand new product however, everythingelse was good. Therefore, I rate with a 4☆. I will be more than happy to increase to 5☆ if they replace the strap. I will be back with more feedback. The easy part was done, make my beleive in the product and the warranty, lets see if they stand behind it!. Updating this review. I called Mockins and in a breeze they asked me for my order ID. She asked me what happened and upon explaining her she asked me to email her my contact info and with no more to do she mailed me a whole set of traps. I received it within a week. They exceeded my expectations. I will trust their products as they backup their warranty.
We Drove from the Seattle area all the way to Cody Wyoming and back. No issues. It rained and poured. It was as hot as 90 degrees and speed was up to 90 mph on some highways. Worked perfectly great. It seemed water resistant enough. Never had rain leaking indoors like some had said happened. Only time it made that helicopter sound was during a wind/rain storm and 60 mph driving speed. It didnt tear or anything. As you can see in the pic, it fit A LOT of stuff. Great buy. Super happy with the purchase.
Drove over 600 miles with this, including a couple hours in heavy rain. Contents stayed dry, drove at 70 mph with almost no wind noise. Connected two of the black straps together to make one that was long enough to fit through the car. Since there are 4 black straps this allows you to make two sets that attach to the cargo carrier. This keeps the carrier from shifting side to side. Then we used the extra two orange turnbuckle straps for extra security. Used the mat that comes with the carrier.Suggest using rubber pads where the straps contact the exterior of the car to prevent scuffing. We used kitchen shelf liner and just cut small pieces to protect the car. Be sure to put the non-zippered side toward the front of the car. Driving in rain, the water did not wick into the car through the straps until we stopped. Suggest using bath towels on the seat or hand towels wrapped around the straps inside the car if you will be stopping in the rain. Best to have the straps go through the rear door as shown in the photos. We chose a sunny day to drive.Carrier did not move at all during trip, contents stayed dry. No damage to carrier. Very pleased overall.

I liked that it came with a mat to help protect my van's finish. We traveled 655 miles with the Mockins Cargo bag on top our vehicle. We went though 3 rains storms in Oklahoma. When we arrived to our destination our suitcases and other items were safe and secure. Nothing was damaged or wet. The Cargo Bag kept everything safe and dry. My van doesn't have rails on top, but installation was a breeze. Installation instructions or suggestions would have been nice, but installation is pretty straight forward. The bag seems to have great construction and very dutiable. For me, this was a purchase that I intended to use over and over again and I believe this Cargo Bag will be around for a while. I'd recommended this product to anyone looking for extra storage while traveling.
With the help of a friend we secured this cargo roof bag to the bars on my Subaru Impreza Sport. This is a huge bag that had plenty of room to spare. It does not come with directions (which is why I rated it 4 stars instead of 5). It did come with lots of straps. Essentially straps loop across the top of the bag (threaded through 4 corner loops) and secure on the roof bars. In addition we wrapped a third strap in the middle secured with a ratchet strap. The bag never moved at all even with wind and rain and a four hour drive. I had tied off the extra strap material so it did not rattle. Everything was dry at destination. The drawback to this bag is you can not get into it after securing the straps. Not a big deal for my purposes. I needed a bench to reach the roof to fill it. It's all folded away waiting for the next trip. I definitely recommend this bag if you need a dry, well made, fairly cheap way to bring all the stuff with you when you have passengers.
Our move out of state had 3 legs and this roof top carrier was perfect. It held a total of 5 suitcases (2 large and 3 small) plus other small items that were used to fill in any gaps. We would recommend to tape down the straps for longer rides. We went through all types of weather (hot sun, rains, and even high winds) and it held up perfectly. We bought this because we had no where to stick anything in our SUV while going camping. We had 3 adults, 2 toddlers, and 2 pit bulls and no room in the car for camping gear. I hoped to fit at least most of the stuff in this bag but I was blown away by how much it fit! We fit a 6 foot folding table, 5 camping chairs, two blow up queen mattresses, a tripod cooker, two lamps, a first aid kit, a 9-person tent and 10x16 tarp, a queen sized comforter and two twin blankets as well as three king-sized pillows! and there was still room for stuff! I pre packed it on the floor to test before leaving and it all fit great. The morning of leaving I climbed on the SUV roof and laid it out and packed it while my husband grabbed things and handed them to me. Took maybe 30 minutes. He ratchet strapped the bag thru the car with the provided straps and never even had to use the extra straps he brought. The bag didn't budge even at 85mph. Great quality product!

Ok, so there's a whole story with this:I got it to drive (move) from Florida to California. The bag itself is amazing. It's weatherproof waterproof and stayed on my car the whole trip. I didn't even take it off at night because it was literally so heavy, myself plus four other people couldn't lift it. So it weathered everything. The only problem is with the straps going through your car when it rains because it drips down the straps into the car. When that happened I got DampRid and baking soda and it dried up everything and didn't even smell. Everything turned out fine but just know if it rains with this thing on your car. That means it is raining in your car.
