Frequently Asked Questions
What is the hitch size?
Our cargo hitch carrier is designed to fit a standard 2-inch hitch receiver, making it compatible with most vehicles.
Can I haul a wheelchair on this carrier?
No, our cargo carrier cannot safely transport a wheelchair, as it does not have a ramp for easy loading and unloading. We do have a ramp carrier that would be more compatible and better suited for wheelchair transport.
Will this fit all vehicles?
Our hitch mounted cargo carrier is not compatible with low-riding vehicles such as minivans and compact cars. These vehicles may have insufficient ground clearance when going uphill and would require a hitch riser.
In the case of Jeeps with rear spare tires, the carrier may not fold properly, and an extender may be necessary.
Additionally, the hitch class is important for determining what can be transported. It's crucial to check the Tongue Weight Capacity of the hitch; anything below a class III hitch may not be able to support 500 lbs.
What are the inside dimensions of the basket?
The internal dimensions of the cargo basket are 59 inches long, 19 inches wide, and 5.75 inches tall, providing ample space for hauling various items such as luggage, camping gear and construction materials.
How do I fold it up?
To fold up the cargo carrier, you need to remove the securing bolt, lift the basket to its upright position, and then reinsert the bolt to lock it in place.
Can you safely carry two bikes on this carrier?
Yes, you can carry two bikes on this cargo carrier.
However, please take note of our basket dimensions to ensure that two may fit and be sure the bikes are properly fastened using the provided ratchet straps and bungee net to prevent any shifting during transit.
