Great product. We love it. It gave more room inside the car when we travel for our dog. We used the bags as our suitcase and with the covers it keeps it clean still. The bag is so easy to clean too. Very sturdy and secures the items inside. Highly recommended 👌 👠👠💯
Purchased this for additional cargo space for a multi-state family trip. The setup worked great! The packing cubes helped keep things organized instead of suitcases, and the cover is completely water proof. Would recommend this setup to anyone needing more space for a family trip or a day trip.

Paint job is terrible. Most of the item looks like this. Very poor job.
I used the cargo carrier for the first time on rv trip and found that the main bolt holding the basket to the arm had worked loose and sheared off part way through our trip. The remains of the bolt jammed into the side of the connection were what I found. The bolt had been installed properly with the lock washer and tightened securely with a large wrench and ratchet before I left. The nut must have worked its way off and the bolt slide out partway and sheared. See picture above of the remaining piece of bolt and the bent part of the connection where the bolt fragment was lodges. Additionally I found that the nuts on the U bolt holding anti-rattle plate on had come mostly loose as well. I replaced the main bolt with hardware from ACE hardware and used lock nuts (doubled up) instead of lock washers. That seemed to hold without any slippage on the rest of my journey. Note that I only had 55 lb of cargo on the carrier; with a heavier load I might have dumped a load in the middle of the freeway in front of a car. If you buy this I strongly recommend replacing the nuts with lock nuts on both the main bolt and the U bolt and maybe even doubling down on the nuts. Note that I found the product a good value otherwise and liked the straps, hitch lock and bags that came with it. The 1 star rating is due to the safety issue.
This cargo carrier helps compensate the cargo space lost when I have the third seats up. Without this cargo carrier, it's so stuffy to have the third seats up and store whatever in the space behind the third row seats. It's impossible to have a long trip carrying a lot of stuff. Even we made the trips, we couldn't buy anything on the way back from the trip.This cargo carrier is big and can carry a lot of stuff, heavy stuff. I truly like it so much. The whole package is fantastic. It comes with a big carrier bag. Inside the carrier bag, it has a lot of removable smaller bags. I can put my clothes inside these smaller bags. The carrier bag has a heavy duty zipper and water resistant. Therefore, when it rains, the carrier bag repels water readily and protects everything inside the bag.The carrier bag has no solid structure. Therefore, to be tied down properly, I have to put in as much stuff as possible in the carrier bag. In order to provide a skeleton structure to the carrier bag, I put 2 rectangular plastic containers inside this carrier bag. As long as I tie down properly, my cargo stays in tact.The only downside is that when I fold the cargo basket 90 degree, I can't open my tailgate.
I got this to replace my old carrier that I gave to my son. This is fantastic.It took me about 45 minutes from start to finish to unpack, assemble and cleanup. It comes with some skinny wrenches but mine was missing the 13mm so I ended up switching to my own tools.Welding and powder coating are good. Very sturdy after assembly. Extra nice feature is that it folds up when not carrying stuff. Comes with a hitch key lock. It also comes with a large waterproof bag and 4 soft sided suitcases that fit inside of it perfectly. Also has straps and a cargo net.All in all, this is an excellent carrier and we will put it to great use.

Once I unpacked, I inspected all items and found no defects or issues with any of item.The item is easily unpacked from the box. The directions are very vague, but you can put it together based on the information they provided. Some people may have some difficulty depending on their, mechanical ability. I was able to unpack, assemble and clean up in roughly 45 minutes.I was impressed with the overall construction and design of the product. It is designed well and sturdy both when installed and not in use. It appears to be durable and will stand up well to repeated use. I like all the accessories that it comes with because they are made specifically for this cargo basket. All accessories are well-made appear to be constructed from a quality material and have a functional/practical use.I have used this to get bags of mulch and haul scuba gear. Also, it works well as a table when assembling/disassembling scuba gear on site. It keeps everything off the ground and from getting dirty. The Lock, accessories bag, cargo net, straps, and soft shell cargo bag all are handy and well made.Fit on my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is perfect in my opinion. It has adequate distant from the lift gate and bumper when folded. When unfolded it extends further than I anticipated which is good.Overall, this is a great all in one bundle. It had everything I needed and then some. It surpassed my expectations and I would not hesitate to recommend to others.
Well packaged from the factory, the build was straightforward and the parts were all in the box. The framework looked good with no scratches or dings present. We've seen the Mockins cargo bags in the past and are impressed. With this kit is a bag, straps, a cargo net as well as a locking hitch pin. I mounted this on my 1-ton dually pickup and at ~60 inches in width it just about matches the tailgate for size. Any wider and there is a risk of obscuring the taillights. This is about perfect on the truck but concerned if being placed behind a narrower vehicle. As mentioned, build quality was good and as expected, weight was manageable and the folding option is easy & quick. 4.5/5 I like it.
I'm amazed at how much gear this can carry. I can fit amount as much gear on the this trailer hitch cargo carrier as I can in my SUV.It comes with everything you need for your next adventure. It comes with 2 tie down straps to cinch down your gear. The spider cargo net is great for keeping miscellaneous items from flying away. It has a lot of stretch to it.The four zipable containers are nice for organizing all your gear. The four containers fit nicely inside the larger waterproof container. The large container also has velcro to keep the water out. The zippers on the large container are heavy duty.I like that the it goes behind your vehicle on the trailer hitch. I didn't notice any extra wind resistance when carrying all my gear.
It seems like a very well built unit. I was going by the measurements of 48x18x6 as being the inside, cargo area measurement but it is actually the outside. I needed 17.5" inside but it's only 16.5" inside. I now need to pack it up and return. The shop should update the description to include the inside dimentions as this is really the information shoppers are looking for.
the folding cargo carrier from Mockins is a heavy duty and very stable rated at impressive 500 lbs weight capacity, looks that the steel tubes are thick and included heavy durable coating for longer rust free life, comes with all the necessary hardware i would recommend using gloves for safety. the assembly didn't take long and took less than 30 min using the included installation manual.the best part about this carrier is the included cargo bag that's including 4 packing bags, lock carry handles and straps, the carrier bag is all weather proof and heavy duty made all around, also included a heavy duty hitch lock.the hitch connection is tight and stable with no extra movement or wobbling while driving, i did check the connections a few times during to first ride just to make sure everything is secure and still there lol. im very impressed from this products performance and all together heavy duty package and will recommend it.
I am very happy with my purchase of the Mockins 48x18x6 cargo carrier for my 2016 Honda CRV. It came with everything I needed to pack and secure my belongings, such as four packing cubes, a waterproof cargo carrier bag with a lock, ratchet straps, a hitch stabilizer, and a hitch lock. It also included some wrenches for easy assembly, which took me only half an hour with the help of some YouTube videos. I had to get a hitch adapter separately to fit the 2" receiver on my CR-V, but that was not a big deal. The cargo carrier is well-made and looks great on my car. I love that it has a mesh floor that prevents things from falling through the gaps. When I had a minor issue, I called Mockins directly and got a friendly and helpful response right away. They answered my question and assured me that they were there for me if I needed anything else. That's what I call excellent customer service! I highly recommend this product and this company!
Well made, durable and looks great. The assembly process took around 30 minutes. The instructions were detailed but a bit hard to understand due to printing of the images. We watched the video on YouTube showing the installation process and that cleared it up instantly! It definitely helps to have an additional set of tools for tightening the nuts. It came with all the items as described. The bags and carrier are waterproofed with durable plastic. It installed with a great amount of clearance on our Jeep. Really excited to use this on our next road trip for additional space.
