A: Yes, as long as the hitch extender is rated for the appropriate weight capacity and does not compromise stability.

A: Yes, as long as the hitch receiver meets the required weight capacity. Always double-check your vehicle’s specifications.

Q: Can the hitch carrier be attached to a tow ball?

Seems really sturdy but golllyyyy there are so many screws. took me forever to build it. Ramp seems nie but I really bought it for a cooler (one of those big yeti type coolers)! Lightweight, but also sturdy, should last a long time!

This aluminum hitch cargo carrier has been a great addition for my family. It fits perfectly on all three of our vehicles with trailer hitches, and it's light enough that I can move it from one vehicle to another when needed. The size does make it a bit awkward to handle alone, so having two people definitely makes the job easier. The built-‘in ramp is a huge help for loading a wheelchair, and the kit really does come with everything you need except the hitch itself. The locking pin and included straps are nice touches that make the whole setup feel complete and secure. When we're not hauling a wheelchair, it doubles as a convenient spot to carry luggage for trips, which has already come in handy. Overall, it's a sturdy, versatile carrier that does exactly what it's supposed to do and adds a lot of flexibility to our vehicles. The price if fair for what you get.

The Mockins 50" x 29" aluminum hitch carrier with ramp has been a dependable solution for transporting a wheelchair and mobility scooter because the lightweight aluminum frame is easy to handle while still offering a solid 500-‘lb capacity that feels trustworthy on the road. The fold-‘down ramp is the real standout it's wide, stable, and makes loading a scooter or chair smooth without awkward angles or heavy lifting. Once mounted in the 2" receiver, the included stabilizer and accessories keep the carrier tight with no rattling, and the weatherproof construction holds up well to rain and road grime. I appreciate how quickly it installs and how secure everything feels once strapped in. For anyone needing a reliable, user-‘friendly mobility carrier that doesn't feel like a chore to use, this setup delivers confidence and convenience in one package.

Nicely made and easy to move compared to steal type. I have both styles and still use each type but I really like the gate on this model when I am moving my mower or snowblower. Plus my dad was able to use this without any issues as well. No need to for any heavy lifting at all.

Was too big for my needs had to return. But it is sturdy, easy to assemble and unassemble!

This was easy to put on my Odyssey, once it was on, it stayed in place without rattling around. I really like that I can fold the ramp down and load things up instead of lifting everything. I've already used it for my lawn mower, totes, and other bigger stuff, and it makes hauling things a whole lot easier. It feels well made while driving, which was a big deal for me as some feel or sound they'll fall apart any second. Best part is just how useful that ramp is - it turns this from a basic carrier into something I'll actually keep using. Definite recommend from me!

This hitch mounted carrier is excellent in every way. It's easy to install and fits securely. The aluminum frame is light but strong. The ramp makes loading and unloading a breeze. It would work with most any vehicle with a hitch and adds a ton of room. I don't notice any additional road noise or rattling at all. It's a great deal for a good quality carrier.

I found this to work well. Assembly was tedious but not hard (lots of screws and bolts). Installation to my Colorado truck was easy, carried a large generator and heavy Rtic cooler loaded 750 miles with no issues. Very happy with this purchase.

Ended up drilling new holes for the hitch attachment as it was sticked very far out from the van. Once I did that, works well.

I recently acquired the Mockins Aluminum Trailer Hitch Cargo Carrier with Ramp. The weatherproof construction gives me confidence that my cargo will remain protected from the elements during travel. Installation was surprisingly manageable; one person can definitely handle it.

The built-in ramp is a standout feature. It makes loading and unloading my mobility scooter incredibly easy. The rubber edges are a thoughtful addition, preventing any unwanted scratches on my equipment. Securing the ramp with the pin clips feels secure, and I like the versatility it offers for hauling different items.

The 500 lbs capacity is more than sufficient for my needs, and the lightweight design of the carrier itself is a definite plus. It doesn't add excessive weight to my vehicle. If you need a reliable and user-friendly cargo carrier with a ramp, this one is definitely worth considering.

My first impression of the Mockins aluminum trailer was that it was packed well in a very large box. It was fairly heavy to move around but it made it to our house without any damage. My husband installed this and his thoughts specifically on the installation and value for the money...There are a lot of nuts and bolts. A lot. Thankfully no parts were missing. Make sure you have a 10 mm handy and a drill. For the instructions, there are a few places that aren't correct; use logic in some places rather than following what is stated to a T. When you're attaching the cargo part to the frame, they tell you to do the bolts upside down but you want the bolts to go toward the ground not the way that they have it laid out in the instructions. It's also a very soft aluminum so when it says to tighten it, be careful because if you over tighten it, you will bend the aluminum pretty easily; you have to be careful. Just get it tight, but don't overdo it. The carrier and ramp is secure, but light duty. It's aluminum, so not the most sturdy material out there, but it's great for a light scooter, or roughly 100 pounds or so. Overall, good quality, lightweight, bulkier than it is heavy when you're trying to attach it. It comes with a nice hitch lock so it locks it to the vehicle, which is nice. It has a stabilizer, which I recommend using. You can clip it on to the hitch and the transporter. For the price, this is a great find. Highly recommend.

I don't use this for a wheel chair or anything like that,
I typically use it on my UTV to move my large trinfuel generator as it's way to use the ramp and wheel it up.

It works perfectly for that. I've also used it to move 55 gallon barrels filled with gas from one location to another.

With the things I am using it for I'm sure it will be able to handle any mobility scooter that will fit on the platform with ease. As long as you secure everything with straps it handles the load well.

Overall the unit is very well built and it's relatively light weight which makes for an easy install. It's a great unit for the price.

Great product for the price. Easy to assemble and use. Light weight yet sturdy and strong. Have been using it to transport snow blowers. Was easily able to get a big 26inch 2 stage machine loaded and unloaded without assistance!

I got this for my husband to put our lawnmower and accessories on, because I'm tired of our SUV smelling like grass and gasoline. He's pretty handy so he didn't have any issues putting it together, and he got it set up pretty quickly. He said he was surprised at how lightweight it was, but it still feels very solid and durable. It was easy to attach to the hitch, although he noted that it could be hard to do for someone with limited mobility. Once attached though, it's very easy to open and close, and it holds everything securely. It seems very well made and is working well for us after several weeks of hauling things around. It's much more convenient than hauling around a full trailer, and you also don't notice it nearly as much on the back of the vehicle. It's also a great value compared to a full trailer, and it holds lots and is easy to use. I honestly wish we'd gotten one sooner.

I have two steel Mockins trailer hitch cargo carriers as well as a roof rack. Those units are very solid, but they are also very heavy on account of the steel construction. Assembling and mounting these units isn't particularly hard. The really large steel units will add a lot of weight to your hitch.

This particular version is an aluminum hitch that is intended for wheelchair use. However, nothing stops you from using it for other items. The aluminum construction is solid, and oddly enough the entire unit is not light weight. It still has a fair amount of heft. As with trailers, it is more costly to construct these out of aluminum. The advantage is complete resistance to rust and lighter weight.

What I like most is the built-in folding ramp design, which makes loading and unloading items like electric scooters, lawnmowers, or heavy boxes very convenient, eliminating the need for separate lifting and saving a lot of effort. The aluminum alloy structure is indeed lighter than the steel version, and it doesn't feel too heavy when installed at the rear of the vehicle, making it very friendly for SUVs or pickup trucks. The 500-pound load capacity is more than enough for daily use, and the welding and structure look quite sturdy. It comes with securing straps and anti-sway devices, providing decent stability while driving. The platform size is also quite practical, easily accommodating a scooter or several large items.

However, it also has some minor drawbacks. For example, the overall size is relatively large, making disassembly, assembly, and storage a bit inconvenient; the ramp angle is rather steep, requiring a little skill to load and unload items if the vehicle has a high chassis or the wheels of the items are small. Additionally, the instruction manual is somewhat simplistic, and beginners may need to study it more carefully during installation.
