I ordered 3 by mistake. My bad. Figured I would just sell 2 on marketplace and eat the loss. Way to expensive to pay the shipping back. I opened the second one and the main plate is crumpled from inside. The shipping box is fine so it had to have left the factory in this mangled shape. Shame on you guys. Lousy vendor. Can’t wait to open the third box. This is not a quality vendor.

This was a great purchase. It was fairly easy to put together and was very stable on our trip home from Florida. It never rattled or made any noise. We couldn’t even tell it was back there. We drove through some very heavy rain and everything was completely dry inside the zippered cover. It holds a lot of baggage! It is definitely worth the money. Not sure why anyone would spend more.
Used this for our family vacation and for hauling stuff around after that, and it’s held up really well. I like that it’s aluminum so it doesn’t rust - it even does a good job hiding rain marks instead of always looking dirty. It still looks close to new after using for a few weeks now, which was really surprising to me. The included straps and cargo bag definitely help button everything in nicely. It holds a lot, doesn’t rattle going down the road, and install was easy enough that taking it on and off isn’t a big deal. Being lighter than steel really helps with that. Definite recommend from me!
I have had other Mockins’ products before, and they are always designed and made well. This is no different. I think this is a great hitch cargo carrier for a lot of reasons. One of the biggest reasons is that it is made of Aluminum. If you have a pool or you live up north and use this during the winter you have nothing to really fear. Down in the south where salt on the road is not a fear, chlorine jugs for the pool is. Chlorine kills your paint and begins to rust your vehicle and it’s almost impossible to see on there unless you actually see it fall on your vehicle. This makes the powder coated steel carriers susceptible to rusting. It carries an impressive 500lbs which is more than comparable to the steel ones. It comes with the stabilizer clamp and lock. These two items keep it secured in more than one way. It also comes with a great high quality Waterproof Cargo Bag and straps. I think its current price is a great deal. The only thing that this thing doesn’t do is fold upright. Outside of that I think it’s a perfect carrier.

This cargo carrier is built to last. It’s thick and sturdy. It was easy to install and fits perfectly. It doesn’t add any additional road noise. The included cargo bag is a fantastic bonus and holds a ton of stuff. The ratchet straps keep everything secure and all while looking pretty good on the road. This is a good quality setup for a reasonable price.

Prepare for the longest assembly youve ever done. The whole thing is held together with nuts and bolts. I knew it would need some assembly, but wowzers. It feels great though, as long as you tighten everything up~!
THe bag is really nice looking and should keep the element out for the most part. Mine was missing hardware but i have a whole workshop full so that wasnt an issue FOR ME.
It can hold a lot, its perfect for keeping my yeti out of the suv while still being accessable during stops.

Pros: a lot lighter than my other one, good size, comes with ratchet 4 straps to secure everything down, easy to use/install on a vehicle (partially because it is so light), pretty good weight limit, good quality large waterproof bag, pretty good instructions for assembly, packaged fairly well for safe shipping, comes with a good storage case for the bag, accessories & all the straps to keep everything together, I appreciate that it comes with a locking pin & padlock for the bag to prevent theft and it was a good idea to include the reflective decals
Cons: full assembly required (time consuming & a pain since you have to hold the nut while turning the screw with a not included screwdriver for a ton of attachment points), the rivets' locations are not convenient/user friendly for where you secure the screws (I found that using a socket wrench & an electric screwdriver was the easiest & quickest way to get the job done but some spots were tricky to get the socket in place with the nut), pretty cheap reflective decals (one started to peel off the backing already & I only used it once & in good weather), I wish it was designed to be able to flip up when not using to carry anything, with the way it is designed to be assembled there are a lot of potential weak points & aluminum is naturally not nearly as strong as other metal materials and fairly expensive for how much assembly is required & the lower quality materials (but at least I won't have to worry about it rusting).
All in all, once it is assembled, it works really well & looks good. Exactly what I needed & a good large size. I recommend but have realistic expectations.
