I originally got this for my side-by-side to add extra cargo storage for hauling items around the property (it's a large property with dirt roads). It is definitely a heavy carrier, as in very weighty. After putting it on and off my side-by-side several times, I decided I wanted to put it on a vehicle that it would stay on more permanently. So, I moved it to my Jeep and that's where it now "lives- most of the time (the Jeep is another vehicle used only on the property to move items around).This rack is very heavy duty and very well made. I can load it with gas cans, chainsaws, and log tongs and head to the mountain for a day of firewood cutting. It will also hold my small generator and any tools I need for working on other areas of the property. The size is good for day jobs and it keeps the mess out of the Jeep. It's a good size for larger items that you don't want inside your vehicle. I also appreciate that it is raised up especially when climbing the mountainous roads and trails.For the most part, I just strap my items to the cargo carrier, but there is also a really nice, well made cargo bag that comes with it. The bag probably won't get much use in my situation because I typically don't work outside in the rain, but I might use it during the dry months to keep dust off my loads as I go over the trails.Everything about this product is sturdy, solid, and seems durable. The finish is good. I've had no issues with it (and I have some really bumpy dirt roads). I like the size. The one thing I don't like is how heavy it is. It is just not suitable for quick on and off application. At least, I have another option to use it and it worked out great. I really didn't use the locking mechanism as my equipment is on site and stored inside buildings at night. I didn't see a need for it in my case.The price point seems very good for what you are getting. I would recommend it.
This is an easy-to-assemble and easy-to-install cargo hitch trailer. It fit my SUV and comes with an adapter from 1.25 to 2 inches. It's functional and has a high storage capacity, especially if your items are already in boxes or cases. It's built with high quality metal materials and is designed for the hauler. It's pricey but is comparable in quality to the top brands out there. Highly recommended!
Loving this hitch cargo carrier! Having owned a similar one in the past, I like this one so much more simply because of where it ends up being positioned on your vehicle. It's up nice and high from the ground and sticks out enough that I can still fold it up when not in use and it fits behind my spare tire when being used on my Jeep. It also comes with a large waterproof cargo bag, which is a nice bonus as its great at keeping your items protected while traveling. More bonus items include some ratchet straps, a cargo net, a hitch stabilizer, and even a lock for not only the bag but for the end of the trailer adapter so no one can steal it on you. While it fits right on a 1.25" hitch, it also comes with a 2" adapter, which is great that's what's on my truck so it was super easy to install. Very happy with it!
This is a steal carrier so it's going to be heavy compared to an aluminum one.The folding aspect of the carrier really helps when putting it on a receiver hitch. Aligning the three holes on the receiver, receiver adapter and carrier can be a real challenge! I recommend an alignment tool of some sort ex: screwdriver to accomplish this task.The carrier, once installed is very strong and the weatherproof flexible bag is awesome. It also has many straps and a cargo net, so versatility is excellent.
I knew this was going to be heavy but did not realize how heavy it was when trying to lift this box in the house :). I ended up just pushing and rolling this to the garage instead of using my dolly. Anyway, after unboxing, luckily, no missing parts or pieces, everything was still secured in the box. The main basket comes in two halves that are connected using 4 large bolts through the main rod in the middle. I had to bring out my toolbox with a couple of ratchet wrenches and it wasn't too much work putting the main basket together. Once connected and tightened, it was quite strong and very sturdy, I tried standing on it just to test and it felt quite stable too. the locks and keys are also nice to have, adding an extra layer of security while traveling. The cargo bag itself was quite thick and durable, all the extras, straps, and net are of good quality also. The reflective strips are quite helpful as well, and nice to have them on already, I was going to put some on anyway had they not been included.

I would have given this 5 stars, but I received it in a box that looked like it had been roughly handled, and one of hardware bags had opened inside the box, so some nuts, bolts and washers were missing. It was fairly easy to assemble, but have a basic tool set available (wrenches/ratchet & sockets). Feels very durable and secure on the truck. Can be used in a drop or raised position depending on the vehicle. Includes a water resistant cargo bag, a cargo net, and ratchet straps. Not a bad carrier as long as you get an intact box with all the hardware. (I had stuff that worked in the garage). 4/5 due to the packaging issues.
I'd say my summary first - it's a great and useful cargo carrier over the tow hitch, but it is truly pain in the butt to put them together.None tools are included so you would need to get your own tools to assemble them. I do not have good professional tools, I only have basic wrenches, pliers, and that's why it was such as painful thing for me to install all these bolts. Some of them were in a very awkard postion where it was extremely difficult to reach and rotate the wrench.Pro tip is to get good tools such as a set of ratcheting wrench, and a drive rocket set would make the job much easier. You will need both simoutanously to properly install them.
Updated from one to three stars, two weeks later. I ended up not returning the carrier and accessories simply because I didn't want to spend the time disassembling it and boxing it back up. After canceling my return, Mockins reached out to me regarding my review below. I expressed my dissatisfaction and informed them that I had purchased a CURT 1.25 receiver pin to use with this cargo carrier. They graciously reimbursed me for the cost of the receiver pin.----I'm super irritated. There was no receiver lock to attach the carrier to my 1.25-inch hitch receiver, so the terrible hour spent getting all the bolts in place was wasted because I couldn't use it. Imagine my pure rage finding this out 12 hours before having to pack my car full for a craft fair. I'm sending this POS back, and I'm not getting anything from this brand ever again. My name is not Karen.The lock ONLY fits in the 2- receiver adapter; it was annoying to assemble because the parts bags were compromised, and pieces got mixed up. It seemed like it would have worked well, but I'll never know.
I give this a 4.5 start because it's "almost" perfect for my needs.If you have a 1.25" receiver that requires a 1/2" diameter hitch pin, then this product will NOT work out of the box for you. The security bolt included with this product fits 2" receivers with a 5/8" diameter hitch pin only. You'll need to order a separate hitch pin in order to get this rack mounted to a standard 1.25" receiver.
This unit has a hollow structure and is able to break off and only has 30 lbs. cargo weight when this happened deadly situation on the interstate could have killed myself or another driver do not buy they do not describe as being hollow bad design

This cargo hitch carrier is really heavy duty and has a big storage capacity. I love the quality and i love how easy it is to assemble. The price is perfect as well, not too cheap and not expensive as well but you definitely get you money's worth.
This hitch rack boasts a respectable design. However, as a cargo carrier, its capacity is somewhat limited. The unit itself is quite sturdy, though assembly required a moderate amount of time. It includes lightweight ratchet straps to secure items. Its most practical use, though, is as a bench. The front section opens to reveal a padded area comfortably seating two adults and a child. The bench is sturdy with minimal frame flex. While it hasn't been exposed to the elements for an extended period, it appears to be weathering outdoor storage well. The price seems reasonable.
