This bag is made from a thick scratch-resistant vinyl. In the product page it is shown to be standing neatly in a rectangular shape. Unfortunately it requires products or boxes with the exact dimensions to achieve that shape. In reality it is a bag, and it will conform to the shape of whatever is packed in it. The strong zipper has a vinyl film that helps it seal, and the lid folds over the side covering the zipper and is held in place with Velcro strips. Unless this bag lies on its side I see no way for any rain water to enter it (see photo).The Cargo Bag is 7 feet long, just 1 foot shorter than my truck bed (see photo of empty bag on the truck bed). Included are 3 tie down straps with buckles to mount this bag on a hitch mount cargo carrier at the back of a vehicle. Also included is a lightweight combination lock, that locks the two zip tabs together. The lock is intended more to keep honest people out than to provide real security.For me the bag is perfect for when we go camping with our camper. This XL 40 cuft tow hitch storage container is ENORMOUS. It's 13.7lbs of super heavy duty waterproof vinyl .... It's 7ft long; 2ft wide; and just barely under 3'ft tall! This is ONE HUGE PIECE OF LUGGAGE! I love it.It's made to go on a tow hitch (I don't have one), but I DO have a flatbed truck that I'll be strapping this Bad Boy down to. I got this to carry all my camp gear in when I take my family on adventures and traveling.The vinyl is extremely high quality, thick and heavy duty. Taken good care of it will last for years. There's three sets of two tie down straps on the top of this cargo case, and it comes with three heavy duty nylon straps; these are for containing the load inside the carrier and keeping it all tight and steady. I'll be using my own ratchet straps to secure it to my truck bed.The zipper is heavy duty, covered, and waterproof. There's also velcro that acts as double security to keep the top down nice and snug. It also comes with a nice sized combination lock to keep it all secure. The carrying case is strong and can pack this cargo carrier up small enough to fit under my back truck seats when not in use. Great product and well made.
I tow my Jeep Wrangler behind my RV when I go camping. I have a sturdy cargo basket that I use on the hitch receiver for the Jeep, and this bag is the perfect accessory for it.Previously I was limited to a couple of large items that I could securely lash to the cargo basket. With this bag, I can throw all kinds of stuff in there. Shovels, tools, camping chairs, firewood, etc.There is SO much room in this bag. It was super easy to install with the included straps. I noticed that on the bottom of the bag there are places for additional straps, but I didn't utilize those. Just the included straps that go over the top and secure the bag to the basket.The material is very heavy duty, and the zippers are as well.The only "drawback" is that the bag obscures the turn signals and brake lights (other than the middle light that is mounted on the spare tire carrier.)Really comes in handy!

Lots of room, but does not go end to end on the rear rack.ALOS FITS IN THE BACK OF MY POLARIS RANGER! PERFECTLY.Bonus! And comes complete with 3 hold down straps and a combo lock. Lock will not fend off a well prepared their but will deter any passersby theft.I love this weatherproof cargo bag and totally recommend to anyone transporting on the back of the vehicle!
I did not realize this would be packaged so well and came with a carrying case! This is very well made and thought out. We have a cover which we had issues with as it leaks in heavy rain. This cover will support suitcases standing upright, our other cover would not allow that! The Velcro around the zipper and the zipper are heavy duty, I cannot believe ANY water will get thru, I do not see how this would leak. The case includes the straps to attach to the luggage rack and a lock. We love this and cannot wait to use it this winter. This is exactly as advertised and well worth the price.
Prior to upgrading from a trailer RV to a 5th wheel RV, we utilized our truck bed for storage of many items which were secured within the locked covered bed and also protected from the elements. The 5th wheel hitch in the center of the bed does leave space for storage deep in the truck bed, but this area is only partially covered by the folded back cover, getting wet when driving through the rain and accessible to theft when parked.This cargo bag fills this space nicely; it's soft sided so it adapts to the shape of it's contents but spans the width of the truck bed and stores all these items we used to place there and now they're protected from the elements and mischief. The material is very thick, important as there is a lot of rubbing while the truck is in motion, and the strong zippers (two which meet in the middle, a smart design which makes it easy to access just the section you need) are covered and held in place with many large pieces of velcro preventing water from leaking through them.While we don't plan to ever remove it from our truck, it does come with a nice carrying case where you can fold and hold it in, as well as straps for use on a hitch mount storage rack and a combination lock for the zipper. Absolutely wonderful product!
Most of the hitch cargo platforms I've seen are smaller in dimension than this bag but it's soft-side shape and well designed zipper flaps, strap loops and material will allow it to be made to fit on a slightly smaller shelf. It's perfect behind the cab of my full size pickup and on the backseat of the double cab. The zippers are large, have good pulls and are completely covered with hook&loop to hold the water resistant flap in place. The three tie-down strap loops on the top keep straps in the correct position even if they should come loose. Carry handles on the ends seem robust as well. It's a large unit at 5' in length and being soft means you can squish into position. The final piece is that it did fold back up and fit into the provided carry case which has tie-down straps and a lock. A pretty solid deal.
It was used to transport spring break luggage. Our cargo was completely dry despite it raining the entire day. It was held securely by the built-in straps. On the way down, I added two bungie straps because I didn't fill it enough and was concerned it might "flap". But, because the bag worked well, we were able to move more stuff to the carrier and there wasn't much material left. The bag was large enough to fit two large rolling suitcases from end to end.

Very heavy duty cover for cargo carrier. Fits as advertised. Good zipper and velcro closing top . This is a complete cover that has a bottom too. Never tried it but I don't see anywhere possible water could enter it.
This thing was exactly as advertised. Very large capacity, very sturdy material and very much waterproof, which I know b/c I drove through torrential rains the first time I used it! Very pleased and would highly recommend this.
Have used in rain and snow. Stayed dry every time. I did build a pvc frame for it. Without the frame it would be hard to use.

We used this for the first time driving on a10 hour road trip and encountered a lot of rain. Everything stayed dry and safe in the cargo carrier bag. It fit perfectly in our rack attached with a hitch (sold separately). I highly recommend!

So I wanted to a cargo hitch carrier bag to use for our trip to Orlando to Universal and Disney which is approx 6 hours away from us. I refused to use the eggshell roof cargo carrier as I drive a Nissan Armada and accessing that compartment on the roof and putting luggage in it is a hassle I did not want to deal with. So I did some research and because I already had a cargo carrier I looked for a bag and went with this one because of the price point. And man I did not regret this decision! We literally just came back from our trip and low and behold it rained very, very hard on our drive back for almost 4 hours of the trip and yep everything inside was dry! No water or moisture inside! This carrier hitch bag is made out of vinyl/rubber so it does smell like you would expect vinyl/rubber to smell like. Think rain coat material expect very think and more durable. It zips up all the way around tight and then is reinforced with velcro along the top for an extra layer to seal it so no water or dust gets in.Now I will tell you this bag and even the others like it that cost more are just that, bags. The pictures a deceiving as when you receive it it's not square like it is in the picture it's literally just a bag that you can put your stuff in which in itself is not bad and would still work. But a quick YouTube search and found a video on how to build a frame for this bag and others like it out of PVC piping which took less than an house to build. No More than $25 was spent on the PVC pipe at Lowe's to construct the frame which fit perfectly! I have attached a picture that shows it with the PVC pipe in it and now it looks just like the one advertised in the pictures and maximizes so much more space. I fit 2 large suit cases in it along with some other belongings. I would definitely recommend this bag to anyone looking to purchase one!

Purchased this for driving from Ga to PA. I'm so glad we had it as it rained the whole way there. Some points it was raining so hard we could hardly see. Everything in side was BONE dry! The only thing I don't like about it is trying to get the top open without it velcroing shut again. My husband is going to build a little PVC rack so that it stands the bag up and makes it easier to work with. It this is a god purchase if you need something waterproof!
